New Musical Director

Swansea Male Choir is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Musical Director. Jessica Segelov comes from Swansea. She studied at Cardiff University where she gained a B.Mus in 2013 and stayed on to be awarded an MA with merit in 2015. She then did a PGCE/PCET at the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David. She currently teaches piano and violin at Oakleigh House School in the Uplands, and also teaches individuals in the Segelov Academy. She has sung with the Cardiff University Symphony Chorus, the Palestrina Singers and accompanied a student Broadway Choir in Cardiff. Her conducting experience includes choirs in Neath and Swansea. This is her first time working with a Male Voice Choir and she is looking forward to exploring and widening the variety of pieces to explore different styles of singing as well as working on our existing repertoire to further advance the beautiful sound that has been a feature of the choir for over 70 years. She will take up her post full time after our Annual Concert on 9 November when we will be under the baton of our guest MD, James Davies, but will be assisting the choir in the interim period.
